The average man today suffers from sky-high estrogen levels (that’s the female hormone).
No need for a study to prove that because every other guy you walk past on the street is pear-shaped, has paper-thin muscles, and patchy facial hair…
What’s causing this nasty surge in estrogen?
Before we get into that, I just want to say estrogen isn’t evil. Our body won’t produce anything that is harmful to itself.
You need a balance of both estrogen AND testosterone.
(Too low estrogen can cause low sperm count, anxiety, and a myriad of other sexual health issues too…)
But the problem is, estrogen is EVERYWHERE…
From our tap water, to our soaps, to the plastic bottles we use…
And one of the biggest causes of excess estrogen in men comes down to what we eat.
Plants contain estrogen (called phytoestrogen).
Most plants don’t have much, but there are two dangerous ones in particular:
>> Soy and flax.
Soy contains up to 1,000x more estrogen than other plant foods.
And flax… up to 3,000x more estrogen.
Most people don’t pig out on flax though, so it’s not such a big problem. But, let's talk about soy.
A soy latte once a month won’t hurt, but consuming soy milk and tofu every single day WILL lower your testosterone. Maybe not today, but over the long term, it will.
Though you could argue that fermented soy is good for you because fermentation breaks down the estrogen, most companies cheat the fermentation process anyways…
Just avoid soy. In simple terms it is excess estrogen.
Raise your testosterone instead. (We can never have too much, naturally.)
